The Story Behind Carpenter Coffee:
In 2023, I left my job as a music teacher to pursue coffee full time. I was hired on as a trainer and quality controller at a small specialty coffee company, but after an internal restructuring, my position was eliminated- I was laid off without being terminated from the company essentially- losing benefits and taking a pay cut. It was this elimination that lead me start my own coffee company, first as a catering cart! I grew up admiring my dad and his woodworking ability, something I took up as a hobby as an adult in my early 20s- This is what became the inspiration for the name of the company.
CARPENTER COFFEE PHILOSOPHY:
Motto: Building Up To Excellence
Customer Service:
A quote from Jordan Peterson, Canadian Psychologist, that sticks with me: "Always try to make other people feel more comfortable."
I have always loved customer service, providing a product that is well worth the money people are going out of their way to use. I have 9 years of teaching experience in DCSD, and I run my Church's coffee shop on Sundays as well as serve in Children's ministry and work with foster children in my spare time. This experience working with people will certainly be one of the pillars of this business!
Technical Skills:
I have also always been a lifelong learner- my friends have always said I tended to be objective and altruistic. I have gone down so many rabbit holes of specialty coffee brewing sciences throughout the years- Burr sets, grinding RPMs, water quality, brew ratios, extraction theory, and so on- the list is ENDLESS! My fascination into the technical aspects of coffee will certainly be one of the pillars into this successful business along with great customer service.
Thank you so much for reading! Any and all amounts are welcome, and please keep in touch on the website (LAUNCHING SOON) for all updates on the coffee cart!
