Hello I am Joshua. My Mother is dying from Aggressive Stage 4 Cancer.

My mother, Carolyn, got sick about 2 months ago. At first she had a bowel infection and constipation. After 2 weeks she wasn't getting better and she started having pain in her lower back. In another week, she was having issues walking. On March 2nd, she couldn't walk anymore and was admitted to the Hospital. After a bunch of tests, it was determined that she had a tumor on her spine caused by cancer. On March 14th we were told it was stage 4 cancer that had metastasized to her bones and skull. The bone biopsy was inconclusive about what kind of cancer it was but the doctors said it was a very aggressive type. She has deteriorated rapidly. She is no longer healthy enough for treatment. She is going into hospice care.

This diagnosis has turned our world upside down. In 2 months, she went from being independent and full of energy to needing constant care and multiple specialists. The travel costs, and everyday expenses are piling up far beyond what our family can manage alone.

Who She Is

If you know my mother, you know here energy. She used to go to a lot of flea markets, craft shows, and fairs to sell T-shirts. She was often referred to as the T-shirt lady. Every weekend, she was selling shirts and talking to friends and strangers alike. After she retired, she was still full of energy. She went out to dances most weekends to dance with friends and strangers alike. Up until 2 months ago, she was spending her days tending her flower gardens. Feeding her goldfish and wild birds, and enjoying the outdoors.
