Help Carolyn Heal After a Vicious Dog Attack
Donation protected
Carolyn’s life changed in an instant. On her way to work one morning, she was viciously attacked by a stray dog, leaving her with severe injuries that have threatened her ability to walk—and even keep her leg.
After the attack, Carolyn, in shock, did what she does every day: she went to work at Burger King, where she has worked for the past 8 years. Only after arriving did the reality of her injury set in. The pain in her leg was unbearable, but her natural instinct to keep going didn’t allow her to realize how serious it was.
Eventually, she sought medical attention for rabies shots, but her leg was still not properly examined. Later that night, Carolyn finally allowed her partner to check her leg, and at the sight of it he immediately called 911. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where she underwent emergency surgery. The surgeons informed her that there is a risk she may lose her leg.
Since that time, she has been fighting three severe infections, keeping her in and out of the hospital for nearly three months.
Throughout this painful ordeal, Carolyn has been remarkably brave, but she’s struggling emotionally and financially. She has no local family or strong support system to advocate for her. Unable to drive and with limited mobility, she will have to rely on buses to get to her medical appointments.
Carolyn is a happy and generous person. Her needs are basic, but even those basic needs can’t be met at this time. Despite this, she has not asked for anything, except for the hope of keeping her leg! Now, as she’s unable to work, her rent and basic living expenses are piling up. Without her regular income, she’s facing a difficult and uncertain future.
I’m asking for your help to support Carolyn during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward her rent, essential bills, medical transportation, and other basic needs while she heals over the next year. With your generosity, we can provide her with some peace of mind as she focuses on her recovery.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support. Every dollar helps!
