Our friend and favorite, Carolyn, needs a little help.

The queen of freelance, the supreme, DJ Carolyn, is facing some exceedingly difficult circumstances. As you may know, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, and is currently undergoing treatment. She has been going through chemo for the last 4 months, and doing well, all things considered. But the financial burden has been difficult, and she still has a very long road ahead. The next big step will be surgery, which includes waiting time before and after, as well as radiation treatment, reconstruction efforts, and ongoing care. We don't know exact timelines for most of this, but we are expecting it to stretch to at least the end of the year at this point.

As the queen of freelance, she is at the whim of whatever work comes her way - and with her current circumstances, there's very little of that work she is able to do right now. She has already had to cancel multiple tours and upcoming work in order to be around for chemo, and her work in venues and bars is impossible with her currently compromised immune system.

We're raising this money to do what we can, and relieve the massive financial burden looming over her head. This will go towards living expenses, medical expenses, income replacement, cancer related expenses, and getting our girl through this. We are trying to primarily raise funds via a benefit show, but are creating this as a way to augment those funds and provide an avenue to give separately from the show.

Carolyn has been an absolutely vital part of the Philly music community, contributing to countless bands, venues, DIY spaces, and more over her storied time in Philly. She has given so much of herself in order to benefit us, to benefit a community that now has a chance to return some of that love and care.
