Hi, my name is Sheila Gull and I am fundraising for my sister, Carolyn McRae, who is currently facing a serious illness. On May 21, 2025, Carolyn collapsed due to extreme sudden right sided arm and leg weakness. She has been in and out of the hospital ever since. Sadly, a mass was found in her spinal cord. She is currently in the hospital undergoing all kinds of testing and treatment. Due to the location of the mass it is too risky to do a biopsy so the doctors haven't been able to confirm whether it is a cancerous tumor, possibly lymphoma or an autoimmune inflammatory disease. Because Carolyn can't use her right arm and leg, the hospital has recommended that she be transfered to an inpatient rehab facility and referred to a neuro-immunologist and oncologist.

It is against Carolyn's nature to ask for financial help but the medical bills, treatments and ongoing care will put a huge financial strain on her and her family. Unfortunately, we feel the need to request help from our community to cover hospital stays and procedures, medications and treatment, transportation and caregiving costs and ongoing long term recovery expenses not covered by insurance.
