Help Carolyn Bancroft Recover from Vet Expenses

I am reaching out to this amazing community to get help for one of my best friends and mentor, who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need even when she doesn't have it. Her name is Carolyn Bancroft. A lot of you know her as an outstanding Community Member, Dog Trainer and Doberman Breeder in the Belmont area. Unfortunately Carolyn and her Dobies have had a very hard year and she is in need of some help. Here is what happened. At the end of last year Carolyn bred her Doberman Aylen to Apollo, she became pregnant, and was confirmed to have a singleton baby. Carolyn did all testing and precautions needed to make sure Aylen’s pregnancy and labor went smoothly. She had a c-section scheduled and drove to Dover multiple times that week for tests to make sure everything went smoothly. Aylen gave birth to a Baby Girl who seemed healthy. We then found out that Aylens uterus was no longer healthy enough to continue breeding, so
she had to be spayed which went well. After about 24 hours the baby suddenly started fading fast and then passed. This all happened within an hour, before she could even get the puppy to the emergency clinic. Between all the tests and the surgery, this ran her about $10,000. Fast forward to this summer. She bred Magi and Sofia, a Beautiful Ukraine Doberman which she got a year and a half prior from a tough situation in which, come to find out, she was lied to about a lot of Sofia’s past. But after extensive testing she was approved to breed and had 1 great litter a year ago. Now as of September we found out she was pregnant with 12 babies after an x-ray to confirm. Everything was going great on her due day. She started labor and everything went well. After 13 babies labor stopped and we felt that she was done. All babies made it and were eating well except for 1 still born mid way through labor. About 2 days after the babies were born 2 seemed weak but we were told to keep them warm and do extra feedings , so they were bottle fed around the clock. All of a sudden Sofia collapsed, she was rushed to the VCA in Concord and was treated for an infection due to a 14th baby still in her uterus. They decided it would be best to spay her due to the toll the final puppy took on her uterus . Carolyn opened every line of credit she had to make sure her girl had the best care possible, meanwhile; she was up around the clock with 12 babies bottle feeding them every 2 hours . She had help from neighbors and friends when they could but she was the main one on the job . VCA told her that Sofia was doing better, but then overnight she took a turn for the worse. She suddenly had severe Mastitis and Sepsis in her uterus. Unfortunately Carolyn had to make the very hard choice to euthanize Sofia as she was in too much pain and even the vets couldn't keep her comfortable. Around this same time the babies suddenly started passing away. Carolyn had calls out to her vet, the vet in Dover and VCA . Her vet and VCA were not equipped to help the babies and the Dover vet was not returning her phone calls. Finally she got through to them and they told her to bring the puppies down later that day. By the time they made it to Dover there were only 5 puppies remaining. The diagnosis as to why she was losing puppies so quickly was Septic Pneumonia , which was from the babies feeding on their mother before the infection was noticed. The vets gave B vitamin , antibiotics and other meds to help the babies along with a very expensive formula. Even with all this extra care to the babies we lost all but 1, a little red male. After all was said and done with all the vet bills and care Carolyn is now in debt for just this litter $15,000. So combining that with the over $10,000 from Aylen’s Singleton litter she is now in debt over $25,000. As you can see Carolyn loves her dogs with all her heart and will do anything she can for them. Now is our chance to help her out after all she has done for the community. If you are able to help please donate And if you are unable to donate please at least share to your page. Thank you for all your help and Happy Holidays <3
