Hello friends! I’m taking the time to share my story and reach out to my community. I’ve been lucky to know all of you through work, school, and life, all of whom have offered love, friendship, professional development, and personal support.
After 7 years of service in healthcare, I had to make the difficult decision to leave the field when workplace violence threatened my health, and I am asking for help. Many of you local to RI have seen in the news how violence against healthcare workers affects us here at home. Losing my employee health coverage is devastating and dental care on a fixed income in the US is a major obstacle. Thankfully, I have been able to narrow my cost from $10,000 to $2,500 in Ecuador.
I am looking for donations of $7-equivalent to a cup of coffee-to help me get my pumpkin spice smile back as I begin work as a Spanish speaking medical interpreter with my best face forward. Any gift, referral for emergency dental funds or inkind services, connections or simply sharing this page means the world. I’ll post estimates and invoices so you can see exactly where every dollar goes. Thank you for your support and for standing with healthcare workers everywhere.
With gratitude,
Caroline
