I just wanted to update you and let you know that Caroline has passed. We are so heartbroken.

We will continue receiving donations, if you wish to help. The money will go towards paying for medical bills which is now at $40K and needs to be paid out in full amount. Every little bit helps Sam and Damian with this. Thank you so much.

Samantha Gardiner along with her brother Damian Owens need our help with hospital bills and medical transfer to get their sick mother Caroline Owens back to Canada to receive better healthcare.

Caroline moved to the Phillipines to retire for a chance at a better life. They believe she became ill after she was poisoned with pesticides being sprayed at her apartment when she was never informed and had no idea that they were going to do this.

She became ill quickly and was admitted to hospital with bleeding gums. She has underwent multiple tests, blood work, CT and a biopsy results determine a diagnosis with aplastic anemia along with now developing hospital acquired pneumonia and bell’s palsy with facial paralysis. She is very frail now and in a lot of pain. She has had multiple platelet and blood transfusions in which the family has had to go door to door and live TV to beg for donors to save their mother.

Caroline is currently now having difficulties with swallowing and the next step would be to place a feeding tube in for food and medications.

The family does not feel confident with their healthcare she is receiving and fears they will lose their mother of they don’t act fast.

She has no health coverage abroad and Samantha and Damian are trying to get her back to Canada.

The cost to get her transfered to another hospital an hour away in Manila is $10K and then another transfer from there to Toronto with unknown cost yet.

Caroline never had any savings and lives in the Phillipines off 75% of her pension as Canada takes 25% because she no longer lives in Canada anymore.
