Help Caroline Moore Recover from Surgery and Cover Expenses

Hi everyone,

As many of you may know, Caroline recently fell and broke her finger while attempting to do a good deed for someone. Her finger was broken so badly that she required surgery.

Caroline underwent surgery on August 21st. She had pins placed in her hand and was starting to recover. She was expecting to be out of work for a few weeks, but on September 6th she experienced intense pain in her hand and it was badly swollen. She went to the emergency room and was told that everything was okay with her hand and to follow up with her hand surgeon, which she did.

Fast forward to Thursday September 12th. Caroline was in excruciating pain and her hand was even more swollen and her fingers were very warm and numb. She was told she needed to have a second emergency surgery, which was done that evening.

Over the next day or two she was told that she had a staph infection in her bone. She has since had a PICC line put in to receive 4-6 weeks of antibiotic therapy. In addition she has an open wound on her hand so that the infection can drain and a long incision on her wrist from having her nerve decompressed.

Caroline is a school bus driver for special needs kids, and adores the children that she drives. However, she will not be allowed to return to work for up to six weeks or more. She does have insurance through her job, but it will not cover much of the medical cost and she will not be paid while she is out of work. As a single woman, she doesn't have a safety net to fall back on.

If you know Caroline, you know she is truly a blessing to everyone she meets. Now, she needs our support more than ever. The mounting doctor bills and her own day to day expenses have caused her to hit a low point and sadness and stress are setting in. Not to mention not being able to do everyday needs for herself.

We’re hoping to raise enough funds to help her cover the costs of surgery, follow-up appointments, and everyday expenses, so she can focus on healing without the added stress of financial worries.
