Help Caroline get to DanceWEB this summer

Hi loved ones and loved ones of loved ones,

I'm Caroline and I recently moved to Berlin to shift towards freelance dancing after working 3 years full time with an immersive company in Denver. After 5 YEARS OF APPLYING and over 600 applications, I'm stoked to announce I've been selected for the DanceWEB scholarship to ImpulsTanz in Vienna.

ImpulsTanz is a five week mega festival for contemporary dance and performance that takes over all of Vienna, within that DanceWEB provides a platform for networking, connection, and mentorship by Raja Feather Kelly, as well as housing and free access to whatever workshops and performances I want.

Real talk- this opportunity feels surreal. I had an ImpulsTanz cutout from Dance Magazine up on my wall when I was 14 and didn’t know anything, to receive this scholarship after finally moving to Europe is a full circle moment.

But also it is so scary, because the only thing that anyone can talk about is that there is no funding anywhere, federal grants are at a halt in the US and in Berlin funds are being cut and decisions around funding are taking 3+ months longer than they should. (If you want more discussion around this you know I can yap for hours!)

HERE IS MY ASK, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS A CALL TO ACTION OTHERWISE KNOW AS MUTUAL AID REQUEST:

The co-financing requires I cover 1/3 of the funding, so that all housing, workshops, performances, networking events are covered. I also need to raise funds funds to cover meals, rent, and travel during this time period. The breakdown:

DanceWEB “Cofinancing”- 2500 Euro

Food for 5 weeks-650 Euro

Travel -100 Euro

Rent- 550 Euro
