A dear family friend, Carolina, an immigrant, single mother, has fallen on rough times recently. She has been an integral part of my family's lives since my son was a baby. Recently, she lost a lot of her steady childcare work when the families she worked for moved away, and shortly after, she was evicted from her home due to a fire in her building.
