In August 2023, Diana Carolina Ayala Romero, a vibrant and determined 26-year-old, traveled to Melbourne, Australia, to pursue her dreams of learning and improving her language skills. However, in June 2024, Diana’s life took an unexpected turn when she began experiencing severe back pain and shortness of breath. She was admitted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where doctors discovered a large tumor—an aggressive synovial sarcoma—growing in her lungs. Despite this challenging diagnosis, Diana remains hopeful and is determined to fight back with the strength and positivity she has always shown.

Though unable to work during this time, Diana is not alone in this fight. We believe in the power of community and the love that surrounds her. Unfortunately, her insurance has only sent a letter claiming her condition is pre-existing, leaving her to face these expenses alone.
