Help Carolina and Lizlee get to Mexico

Lizlee is a 5th grade student at Jones Elementary School in Springdale AR. I've known her since she was a cute kindergarten student walking through the hallways of the school with her hair bouncing in pig tails. Her mom, Carolina, is a wonderful mom. She loves Lizlee with all of her heart and soul. Lizlee reciprocates that love for her mom. A few years ago, Carolina was diagnosed with a rare, terminal illness. She deteriorated quickly and was recently placed in a hospice home. Lizlee was forced to live in the hospice home with her mother for a couple of weeks. Since hospice is no place for a child to live, Lizlee came to stay with my family.

 

Carolina and Lizlee do not have any family or reliable support that lives in the area. Carolina's parents and grown children live in Mexico. It is Carolina's wishes for her and Lizlee to return to Mexico where Carolina can live out the rest of her days and know Lizlee will be loved and cared for by family when she's gone. Although my family loves Lizlee big, we know it's in Lizlee's best interest to be with family that loves and cares for her.

 

Carolina's lungs are failing and it is not possible for her to travel by air. Her deteriorating condition would make it difficult to travel by car. She will require ambulatory transport which is very costly. We need to raise $15,000 to help this beautiful family be reunited.

 

Although Lizlee visits her mother frequently, it's impossible for us to get her to hospice daily to spend time with her mom. It's heartbreaking to know Carolina's days are numbered and she's not able to spend every day with her daughter and family. The love and bond Carolina and Lizlee share is deep and special.

 

I have the most generous friends and family. I have no doubt they will help me raise the funds needed to get Carolina and Lizlee to Mexico to be with family. Every little bit will help.
