Help Carol to survive after her recovery

Donation protected
Hello everyone.
My name is Charmaine Limonius and I write on behalf of our family. Here is our story:

On 30 October 2023, our sister, Carol (Carrie), was admitted to the Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital ICU in critical condition. Her body was under siege from an aggressive and fast-spreading infection. Unable to stop the spread of the infection with antibiotics alone, the medical team performed emergency surgery in a bid to save her life by going into her chest cavity to scrape away and wash out the infection.

Carol made it through the first of what would be several such procedures, during which a great deal of tissue that had been damaged and/destroyed had to be removed. She remains in critical condition.

Carrie is a single mother, who is an amazing nurse. However, she no longer has a job and will have no income for the foreseeable future, as the doctors have made it clear that (a) her hospital stay will be a very long one and (b) she will require rehab afterwards. Thankfully, she has insurance for her hospital care, but no resources with which to survive once discharged.

As she lies helpless, Carrie's rent is due and will continue to be due every first of the month; there are other bills (Internet, her student loan, credit card payments, etc.). Added to that, her daughter is a full-time college student and her tuition is more than she can handle with her part-time job.

We estimate that, at best, it will be eight months before Carrie will fully recover her health, let alone resume the work that she so loved.

We did a tally of what she and her daughter need to survive each month and multiplied that by 8. The result is $60,000.

We will provide regular reports on Carrie's progress. The hospital photo above is several days old. We look forward to posting one that shows her improvement. We know that she will get through this and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for whatever assistance you may be able to offer. Those of you who know Carrie know that she would do the same.

Blessings,

Carrie's family (Jerry for those from her college days : ))
