Dear Friends,
I am a 75 year old artist making drawings, sculptures, and paintings for 50 years, showing in Brooklyn, NY and Atlanta, Georgia recently. Making art is both a time of connecting with the deepest roots of my being, and birthing objects that might have the similar value for others. It's my way of living and offering an aesthetics of meaning in a world that seems dominated by cruelty, injustice, and violence.
My day job, providing interior designers and their clients with custom made metal projects, has landed me in a squeeze between fewer and fewer jobs on the one hand, and rising rents and other costs on the other. Behind in rent for months, no credit left on my cards, and almost no cash on hand I am seeking to restore my balance and not lose my life's work, work space, and home. I have to appear in court on eviction proceedings January 16. The funds will all go to back rent, and turn-off notices for gas, and electric bills.
I need the funds in January. Your support will mean so much to me that it could never be measured. I will hold your kindness in my heart always. Every amount helps me to survive.
My goal is to live the rest of my old age by income from my art.
