Support Carol's Recovery

At the end of the summer, what Carol thought was just a common cold turned into so much more. As I write this, I know Carol will not be happy as she does not enjoy having her private life this exposed, but she is one of the most caring, thoughtful people I know. She will quite literally give the shirt off her back, even if she doesn’t have it to give. And this is why I thought it was so important to reach out in hopes to get some support for Carol when she needs it the most.
In August, Carol was suffering from a cold and lower back pain. She thought it was nothing cold medicine and chiropractic appointments couldn’t cure. And then one day she wasn’t responding to texts or phone calls. People closest to her, became extremely concerned and felt that it was necessary to check on her. I am so thankful that they did as she had passed out sometime the night before from what appeared to be a seizure. She was rushed to the emergency room where she was admitted to the ICU and test began. She was in stage five kidney failure and was put on dialysis. These treatments were not covered by her insurance. Test ruled out a seizure, but it was revealed that due to her upper respiratory infection turning into pneumonia she had went into septic shock. This is what had caused her to pass out the night before. Her body temperature and blood pressure dropped tremendously leaving her immobile on the floor on her left side for nearly 14 hours. Because of this she is now suffering nerve damage in her leg and needs to begin to see a specialist in hopes that the nerve will regenerate over the next several months so she can get feeling back in her leg and foot, in the hopes of having full mobility.
Carol could really use our help to begin to cover medical expenses as bills begin to come in from her two week stay in the hospital and dialysis treatments/PT after she was released. She is on a single income and was out of work for several weeks. She was lucky enough to be able to rent a place next to her mom so she has someone to care for her since she still cannot do all the things she used to be able to do. She is now covering double rent until her old place can be sublet. Every little bit helps as she starts to get back on her feet.
