Hi friends,

As some of you know, our beloved friend Carol was taken to the hospital Xmas eve eve with intense abdominal pain. An initial focus on her kidneys turned out to be a distraction and a subsequent xray revealed a small bowel obstruction, resulting in emergency surgery for an incarcerated hernia. After many more days of trying to cure the infection in her body, she finally got to come home Jan 10, and is now recuperating well with spot visits from home healthcare as well as additional caregivers who are taking shifts to cover her needs.

We all know Carol as someone who does so much for other people! As you would expect, she is a bit out of her element in the role of asking for support or expecting to be the one receiving. But here we are, and I am very glad her people are getting a chance to let her be taken care of and able to focus on healing and getting her strength back.

As you might imagine, this post-hospital chapter of recovering is particularly expensive. I am hoping that the many people whose lives Carol has touched can offer some financial support right now. Support of any amount is very appreciated! Sharing this fundraiser is also very appreciated!
