Help support the Davis Family
Hello to Carols friends, family and kind strangers
On May 14th 2021 Carols life was turned upside down when she was found by a friend/coworker as she had not showed up to work. her friend found Carol in a non lucid state, acting out of character, and experiencing aphasia.
She was taken by a friend to Vancouver General Hospital where they performed many tests to figure out what was going on. Her MRI showed a baseball sized lesion imbedded deep in her brain. Carols Neuro team suspected brain cancer but told her family that she would need to have a biopsy done to confirm.
The biopsy surgery alone was extremely dangerous and carried significant risks because of the size and location. Her neurology team was able to successfully perform the biopsy, and when the biopsy results came back it was confirmed that Carol had a grade 4 Glioblastoma a very aggressive terminal brain cancer. As of now Carols prognosis is not very good and she isn't expected to see next year.
Carol unfortunately lives alone in Vancouver and has no extended family in the province besides her son (Jesse). Because of the severity and circumstances of Carols Cancer Jesse has had to leave his family in the Kootenays and relocate to Vancouver for the unforeseeable future.
The diagnosis comes with many medical bills, chemotherapy, costs of relocation and travel expenses etc...
We cannot thank everyone enough for the kind words and support thus far. If you feel inclined to gift a donation it is extremely appreciated but never expected. Thank you all again for the support.
Sincerely,
The Davis Family.
