My very dear friend Carol Attenberg, who has been married for the last 27 years, has just gone through a prolonged period of caretaking of her husband . He died rather unexpectedly 2 weeks ago at the age of 89. The last couple of years have been quite hard for them financially and because of that unbeknownst to Carol he made some perhaps necessary but bad decisions.. He cancelled their life insurance policy and bought a car online which looked good on paper but needs extensive repairs in order to run. Carol has been left with just her husband’s social security which is not even enough money to cover her rent. I’m trying to help Carol raise some interim funds while she is figuring out how to survive. Carol is a lovely , sensitive woman who is creative and resourceful, but at 82 she is dealing with both grief and the challenge of how to create a viable life. Any size of contribution would be greatly appreciated.
