My name is Madeline, and I’m a former resident of Altadena, California—a beautiful town near the mountains of LA that has been devastated by the Eaton Fire. I now live near the downtown LA area and I'm fortunate enough not to have been effected by this tragedy, but my heart goes out to the people of LA who have lost their homes and all their possessions. I’m setting up this GoFundMe for my dear, sweet former neighbor, Carol Momsen, along with her children and pets, who desperately need your help. They have lost everything to this tragic fire.

Carol was my next-door neighbor for years, and even after I moved away from Altadena, she stayed in touch. She is truly one of the kindest, most selfless people you could ever meet. When I offered to create this GoFundMe for her, her first response was, “Other people need it more”—even though she and her family had just lost everything. That’s the kind of person Carol is.
