Dear friends and family,

As many of you may know, our beloved mother, Carol, was diagnosed with a very rare form of lung cancer in June of 2021. It was determined during her first consultation, with the thoracic surgeon, at Morristown Medical Center, on May 28th, that she would need surgery to remove a 4.5 centimeter tumor in her lung. At this point we still didn’t know if it was cancer. On June 16th, Carol had one third of her lung removed, along with 40 lymph nodes. The surgeon was confident, the cancer was removed, as well as he could see. With any cancer surgery, there is a high probability that cancer cells escape during the process, and begin a malignant metastatic growth somewhere else in the body. Metastasized cancers are responsible for up to 85% of all cancer deaths, and because of this fact, Carol has taken on a very costly and rigorous protocol to try to keep her body at optimum health, to reduce the chances of any future cancer growth. Unfortunately, many of the doctors, treatments and supplements, which are being utilized to keep Carol’s body at optimum health, are not covered by insurance.

Carol has always been proud of the fact that she was the healthy one, who has always taken care of others, including helping her husband, Bob, with his health challenges over the years. Now, their roles have been reversed, and Bob has been a steadfast supporter for Carol; from reading book after book, studying treatment protocols, waking up early to make her fresh squeezed juices, to attending every doctors appointment, Bob’s love, and dedication has been vital for Carol’s healing process.

As you can imagine, there is a huge financial burden to continue to manage this disease. Carol had to take months off from work, which put the family behind financially. The funds from your support will be used for medical treatments, supplements, medications, doctors appointments, and holistic therapies, to help boost her immune system, that are not covered by insurance. Carol will be on this rigorous protocol, estimated for at least the next 2-3 years, as she continues to heal, regain her strength and to battle this deadly disease.
