Hi, my name is Carol. I’m a wife, a mom to two amazing kids, and someone who’s now facing a diagnosis I never imagined I’d hear, a rare form of leukemia, with fewer than 1,000 cases diagnosed each year.

It started with extreme fatigue, nausea, and dangerously low hemoglobin levels caused by macrocytic anemia. After weeks of testing, I received the devastating news... I have leukemia. Because it’s so rare, I need specialized care and my hope is to receive that care at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, one of the best places in the world for blood cancers.

But I can’t get there without help.

I just started chemotherapy which means I’ll have to take time off work. The emotional weight of this diagnosis is already overwhelming but the financial burden makes it even harder. That’s why I’m turning to you.

This fundraiser will help cover:

*Travel and lodging to get to Houston for care

*Appointments and treatment at MD Anderson

*Loss of income during chemotherapy

*Basic living expenses while I focus on healing
