Last week, my grandmother (Mamaw), Carol Dodge, suffered a massive stroke and was rushed to the Dartmouth ICU. She has been fighting to recover ever since. My mom and grandfather Eugene Dodge (Papa) have remained by her side and have been staying at a hotel near the hospital. Unfortunately, the cost of medical bills, hotels, and other expenses are starting to pile up. As of right now, we are unsure of how much the VA and insurance will contribute or how long she will remain in the hospital. My sister, Alyssa LaFrance, is so graciously hosting a benefit dinner and dance with the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion in Island Pond. This will take place on February 28th at 4pm. Each doctor has said the best thing for her is to be surrounded by loved ones as her brain is healing.
