Update: Thank you all for your love and help during all of this. My mom would be so overwhelmed at the support, and so beyond thankful. Any extra funds that we receive will go towards the food for a celebration for my mom.

On the morning of July 31st, my mom, Carol Baker, passed suddenly and unexpectedly. This was not something we were financially prepared for, and as much as I hate to ask, I need help with my mom’s final expenses. Most people didn’t know, but she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on June 18th. She had her first round of immunotherapy on July 21st and felt great. The last couple of weeks, she had so much hope for the future and was looking forward to the possible year or two she thought she had left. I’ve been her caretaker and haven’t been able to work much the last couple of months, and I just need a little help so I can get my mom’s ashes home.

Those who knew my mom know what a kind, funny, smart, beautiful, and sassy woman she was. She was always the life of the party, my biggest supporter, sidekick, and best friend.

There won’t be any formal services. My mom’s wishes were to be cremated and then have a very informal gathering of friends and family to celebrate her. I’ll update that info when a date and time have been set.
