Carmen Asevedo is not only a dedicated friend but also a valued member of our local cycling community. As his employer, I’ve seen firsthand how much he gives back—whether it’s joining group rides, racing alongside others, or lending a hand as a skilled bike mechanic. Many of you may know Carmen from the road or from the shop, and you know how much he cares about supporting others.
Recently, Carmen was involved in an unfortunate bicycle accident that left him with a broken hip. The injury is serious, and doctors estimate his recovery will take anywhere from three to five months. During this time, Carmen will be unable to work, which puts a significant strain on his ability to cover basic living expenses and mounting medical costs. It’s a tough road ahead, but I know our community can help lighten the load.
If you’ve ever ridden with Carmen, raced against him, or had him work on your bike, you know the kind of person he is—generous, hardworking, and always ready to help. Now, he needs our support. Any amount you can give will go directly toward helping Carmen get through this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness and for standing by someone who has always been there for others.
