Hi, my name is Lorne Mac Phail and I'm fundraising on behalf of my good friend Carman Cook. At just 55 years old Carman is facing the toughest battle of his life. After being diagnosed with ulcerized colitis in 1990 he was also diagnosed with cerosis of the liver in 2010 and his health has steadily declined since. In 2024 he was diagnosed with precancerous growths in his bowel, he has since had a colostomy and he just received notice that he has been accepted for a liver transplant.

Anyone who knows Carman will tell you that he's a proud, hardworking, and generous man.

Throughout his life he has always been the first to help a neighbour, support his friends, and provide for his family. Putting others first has always been a priority and asking for help does not come naturally for him. Over the last few years Carman’s health has steadily declined between debilitating fatigue, hospital stays and ongoing treatments which has made him unable to work and provide for his wife and boys.

While the liver transplant itself is a critical step, the recovery process requires a significant amount of support. Following the surgery Carman will have to travel to the hospital multiple times a week for several months of monitoring. We are looking to help Carman raise some money to alleviate the overwhelming financial stress of this journey.
