Help Carmen and Amy with their Mother's Funeral

Donation protected

Hello, this is Carmen and Amy. You may know us through school, work, a friend of a friend, or through our mother, Ivy Quach, who loved sharing about her two daughters' accomplishments.

On June 10, 2021, Ivy passed away from stage 4 breast cancer at 45 years old. For 1.5 years, she had been fighting this disease until her body could no longer sustain it. During those 1.5 years, she was always determined and hopeful that one day she would recover. However, the last few months had hit her the hardest. Since her stroke incident in February, her cancer became more aggressive and her body became weaker. Her cancer had spread to her brain, lungs, liver, and bones, making it difficult for her to do everyday things. For a long time, we had tried our best to support our mother and take care of her while we were in school. Ivy fought very hard and she never wanted to be a burden on anyone. She only wished for all of us to be happy and healthy.

Since our mother's passing, we had been frantically planning our mother's funeral. Now that it is all over, we could finally focus on healing. For those of you wondering about how Ivy's daughters are doing, we are doing okay. Our mom's passing was something we had mentally prepared for since February when the doctor told us she had approximately 5 months to live. Knowing that she is no longer suffering and in pain anymore has helped us see our mother's passing in a brighter light. Our mom was the most hardworking and kind person we have ever known. Before landing her ideal career, she tirelessly worked two jobs to support us. Even though she is not here anymore, she will always be in our hearts. There were and will be many times where we think of our mom and the memories we shared. It is hard knowing that she won't be physically here to make more memories. Our lives have barely started. Amy just graduated high school and will be attending college in Boston, while Carmen has one more year left in nursing school. What continues to motivate us and push through is that Ivy loved talking about how successful and proud she was of her daughters and we will always continue to make her proud.

We greatly appreciate any amount of support we can receive through GoFundMe. We were hesitant to use this platform to raise money for our mother's funeral expenses because we would never want to bother anyone. However, we are experiencing financial hardships.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We truly appreciate all the love and support we have received during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Carmen and Amy Ung
