We’re asking for help for our sweet dog, Carmelo.

A few days ago, we had to rush him to the vet emergency room with a mass near his bum that burst, leaving him with a large, open wound, and medications - and leaving us with an unexpected bill. After x-rays, blood work and several tests, we were able to bring him back home. Afterwards, we found out he needs surgery to remove his anal sac and some abnormal tissue (a perianal adenoma). It’s painful, it’s scary, and it’s honestly hard to watch him try to get comfortable or move around without being in pain.

Carmelo means the world to us — he’s part of the family. If you know him, you know how much love he gives and how gentle his heart is. He keeps Mommy company when she’s sick. He knows when she’s in pain — especially on those long, endless nights — and he’s always there for us. Now it’s our turn to be there for him.

The surgery, tests, anesthesia, hospital stay, and recovery are beyond what we can afford right now, and time is working against us. The longer we wait, the higher the risk of infection or things getting worse.

We’re trying to raise $7000 to cover the procedure and follow-up care. If you’re able to give anything — even just a little — we’d be so incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, sharing this would mean a lot too.
