Help Carly repair or replace her stolen car!
A few weeks ago my beloved '04 Subaru Forester was stolen while I was delivering pizza. I was finishing up the delivery when I turned around to see my car speeding off.
I sank blood, sweat, and tears into this car- did all of my own car work including pulling the engine twice. I relied on it to deliver through snow, ice, and potholes, which it did fantastically. I loved this car to death. But not enough to pay $170+ a month premiums for full coverage though. The car wasn't worth enough on paper to justify that.
The cops found the car and had it impounded a few days later, but the thief had stolen everything from inside and had crashed the car, damaging a lot of the engine bay and frame. We took the car with us, hoping we could somehow repair it ourselves or at least sell its parts to try and cover the ridiculous $235 impound fee. It drove 25 miles back with no leaks, so we are clinging to hope.
Repair for damage like this can easily wrack up thousands of dollars, and purchasing a car, even a Craigslist car, is a cost I simply wasn't prepared for. Especially now that I'm between jobs (you can't deliver pizza with no car). I need transportation to get to my new job, and upon encouragement from others I've decided to ask for some help.
I know pretty much everyone is struggling right now, but if you have an extra $5 to tip a friendly neighborhood ex-delivery driver in need, I couldn't thank you enough.
