Carly - a heart-centered mother, community member and educator - needs our help so she can offer tutoring to those who need her services but do not have the resources to access them.

Carly has spent the last year putting everything she has into creating Beyond the Curve Learning Center so she can expand her tutoring business to accommodate more students who are diverse learners in the Brattleboro area. At this time, she is excited to share that she has leased a space and is ready to open in January! If we can raise enough funds to help her furnish the space, Beyond the Curve Learning Center would be very happy to match those funds by donating a weekly homework clinic and offering free tutoring for local students.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Now more than ever, students need safe and supportive environments to learn in. Recent studies backed by personal experiences demonstrate that our schools are unable to meet the learning needs of an increasing number of students. At the same time, bullying is on the rise while student mental health has been on a frightening decline.

Beyond the Curve's methods help minimize the symptoms of stress and trauma that students carry with them, from experiences in and out of school, so that they are able to trust in themselves and the learning process and are able to begin to leap and bound toward their academic goals.

Owner, Carly, specializes in working with and lifting up students from marginalized and underrepresented populations including students who belong to BIPOC, ESOL, LGBTQIA+, and gifted communities; adopted and foster children; our newest neighbors and those experiencing or recovering from homelessness and/or poverty. She is a gifted educator who has a talent for intuitively understanding what individuals need to maximize their learning and she relies on this intuition - along with her training and experience - to build confidence and to spark a love of learning in her students, whether their needs are academically or emotionally based. This is a much-needed gift to bring to our community, since so many students have struggled to find adequate support in their schools and home study programs.

In a world of increasing academic challenges, Beyond the Curve Learning Center provides what students need to feel safe to learn, to build self-confidence, and to thrive academically. Carly is asking for your help so she and the team she is developing can offer this safe learning environment to more students.

Funds raised will pay for:

- Classroom furniture

- White boards

- Teaching materials

- Alternative seating options and sensory tools for autistic and other neurodivergent students

- A smart projector and screen

- Art Supplies

All funds raised will be matched with donated services. Meeting the goal of $7,500 will allow Carly to provide a free weekly homework clinic for a full year (through December 2026.)

If we are able to raise half of the goal, Carly will host a free homework clinic for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year. Anything raised in excess of the goal will be matched with additional individual scholarships.
