Help Carly kick cancers ass
Hi everyone,
This is a difficult one to write.
Most of you know my little sister, Carly.
On July, 2nd Carly went in for an abdominal ultrasound to see if she had any gallstones. What should have been a routine procedure found her to have numerous masses in multiple organs. She went in immediately for an MRI which discovered she had small tumors in her pancreas, liver, breast, lung, colon, gallbladder and uterus.
The doctors quickly determined this to be a fast spreading cancer and she started chemotherapy the very next week.
Needless to say this was shocking news to the family and of course, to Carly.
Since the start of her treatment they have been able to shrink the tumors in all organs other than her lung, breast and colon.
She is now in the process of trying to get rid of the last remaining tumors through intensive chemotherapy treatments, with plans for follow up radiation treatments if there are tumors left. She is also being tested and going in for a bone marrow biopsy for Leukemia (specifically CLL) because doctors are dumb founded with how quickly and aggressively these cancers have formed and metastasized.
Because this was more than likely caused by a number of health factors, primarily a rare autoimmune disorder that doesn’t allow her body to recognize free radicals or cancerous cells nor knows how to fight them, Carly will need to undergo immunotherapy for the next two years to ensure her immune system can fight any other cancers that try to form after treatment.
Just this initial treatment alone has cost thousands of dollars with good insurance and the immunotherapy will be no different.
In the next two weeks, Carly must come up with $10,000 for her first 6 months of the immunotherapy and will be required to pay this amount biannually for the next two years.
Carly is not one to ask for help, and to much of our friends and family this will be shocking news, but she has agreed to allow me to make this for her because she knows she will need some help!
While I know many in our community are going through hard times, anything will help. If you cannot donate please share.
My little sister is the kindest and most giving person I know, and now needs to allow others to show her some love and compassion.
We will update as things change as we are still learning more as the days go on.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting <3
