Help Carly Crush Cancer!!

This is a role reversal a healthcare professional never wishes to experience. Carly began to feel unwell in October of 2022. She underwent multiple tests, all of which gave her no clarity or answers until recently. Carly has been diagnosed with Stage 4b Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the most advanced stage of this type of cancer.

Understandably, this diagnosis has undeniably changed the lives of Carly and her family. Going forward, things will look very different, as Carly has started treatment in another city, hours from her home.

Carly has a strong passion for helping people, leading her to a Respiratory Therapy career. She worked at Foothills Hospital, where she loved to work in the NICU and helped some of the most vulnerable and sick patients. Many of us have worked first-hand with Carly and have witnessed her passion for caring for others. Not only was Carly an advocate for her patients and her profession, but she was also a trusted colleague who was always willing to offer her knowledge, humour and even her shoulder to cry on.

After many years of being a dedicated Respiratory Therapist who full-heartedly committed to the life of a shift worker (missed birthdays and holidays, not to mention a messed up circadian rhythm), Carly decided to change her career path to become a life coach. Once again, her desire to help and inspire people fueled this change, and she bravely packed up everything she knew and moved to Penticton to start her new dream life. Carly took this challenge head-on; however, her dream was suddenly and unexpectedly put on hold by falling ill. Her illness has dramatically impacted her ability to generate an income, and significant expenses will be incurred throughout her battle to beat this cancer.

Along with her passion for caring for people, Carly loves to spend time with her friends and family and loves to travel with them. Anyone who has been on a trip with Carly will tell you they have many great memories from their travels! Unfortunately, Carly is now starting on an unexpected, unplanned and unwanted journey. We have created this Go Fund Me to help ease any financial concerns for Carly and her family, so the primary focus can be on Carly getting through this.
