Dear friends of Carlos Rodriguez (& friends of friends)...
My name is Brad and as one of Carlos’s closest friends, I’m organizing a GoFundMe page to help him with medical bills for his recent diagnoisis with colon cancer.
If you know Carlos, you know that he has an amazing life but also an amazing outlook on life. He brings joy to everyone who knows him, especially his family. He's an amazing husband, father and friend.
And he can use a little helping hand right now.
On November 30,2021, Carlos was diagnosed with Colon Cancer called adenocarcinoma. They have found a cancerous tumor in his colon and will be conducting a laparoscopic procedure requiring a team of 3 surgeons to remove this tumor, some nodes, most of his colon and part of his small intestine.
The surgery is planned for December 15 which is immediately due to the magnitude of his tumor induced anemia.
He will most likely be needing blood transfusions as well in order to conduct the surgery accordingly.
The good news is, his tumor appears to be "localized" which has a very good prognosis for survival.
The bad news is that much of what Carlos will endure for treatment is not covered by his insurance.
This means he will be coming out-of-pocket for tens of thousands of dollars even with the insurance coverage he has.
That is why I am asking for donations to help lessen the massive financial blow of this incredibly devastating news.
Anything counts and is deeply appreciated.
It is highly unlikely that the goal amount will cover all of his medical expenses as you know this is a long and slow battle, so any donation is welcome.
The funds raised from your generous donations will go toward these unexpected medical bills due to specialists needed out of his network coverage and financial support for day-to-day expenses, kids schooling and time out of work.
Furthermore, the doctors are unsure if Carlos will need to undergo radiation or chemotherapy to treat the cancer, but will know more following the surgery on Dec. 15th.
We're all hoping and praying that the surgery gets everything so he can heal. We'll know more after the surgery.
Carlos and I will keep you posted throughout his battle and keep everyone updated on Carlos’ recovery.
I know times are tough for many, but any amount you can give will help Carlos get back on his feet and beat this silent killer!
Much love from me and Carlos's family.
