My brother, Carlos Gates, was seriously injured in an accident on December 7th while riding his motorcycle in Bakersfield, CA. He was hit by a car - according to initial reports from the Bakersfield Police Department, they suspect the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated when they collided with my brother, forever altering the course of his life.

He lives in Bakersfield with his wife and three step-children when he is not away working. He is a pipeline welder and welding inspector and member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 488 out of Edmonton, AB.

His injuries from the accident will require many surgeries, rehabilitation, among many other challenges that lay in the months ahead. Any support, prayers, kind words and thoughts you can offer for his recovery will be greatly appreciated by his entire family.
