Help Carlos Ojeda Rebuild After Hurricane Debby Flood

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

We come to you with heavy hearts to share what has happened to Carlos Ojeda, an 80-year-old man who has recently experienced unimaginable loss, along with his daughter Pilar, 56. On August 5th, in the aftermath of Hurricane Debby, the Ojeda family lost their home in Lakewood Ranch, FL, near Sarasota, to severe flooding. The waters damaged much of everything they owned, leaving them with little but the clothes on their backs. Both their cars were totaled, and the place they called home for so many years is now uninhabitable.

Carlos has endured more heartache than most can imagine. Two years ago, he lost his beloved wife of nearly 60 years to a brain tumor. They built a life together filled with love and memories. Her passing left a void that has been impossible to fill. Now, the loss of his home—the last place where her memory still lived—has taken away his last connection to her.

Pilar is now also facing the tremendous challenge of starting over. The floodwaters took away cherished memories, family heirlooms, and everything that made their house a home. Despite their resilience and determination, they cannot face this uphill battle alone.

Carlos and Pilar are in desperate need of help to rebuild their lives. The funds raised will go directly towards:

- Finding temporary housing while they work to rebuild their home

- Replacing essential belongings such as clothing, furniture, and household items

- Purchasing a reliable vehicle to help them regain mobility

- Covering unexpected expenses as they navigate this difficult time
