Carlos Vazquez is a first-year law student at UC Law San Francisco with a deep commitment to disability rights, racial justice, and public service. This summer, Carlos has earned an incredible opportunity: he has been accepted for a prestigious judicial internship in New York, where he will work directly with a judge and gain hands-on experience in the legal system. To take advantage of this opportunity, Carlos must relocate from San Francisco to Brooklyn, New York for approximately two months. Like many public interest and judicial internships, this position is unpaid, and the cost of living and travel presents a significant financial challenge. Carlos is seeking support to help cover accessible housing in Brooklyn, flights to and from San Francisco and New York, and basic relocation expenses during his two-month stay.
Carlos was born with cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, but he has never allowed his disability to define or limit him. Instead, it has fueled his passion for advocacy and justice. Throughout his academic journey—from UC Berkeley to law school—Carlos has consistently worked to uplift disabled and marginalized communities, with the goal of becoming a civil rights attorney who creates real, systemic change. This internship is a critical step in Carlos’s legal career. The experience he will gain working in the judiciary will strengthen his skills, expand his network, and help prepare him to become the best lawyer—and advocate—he can be.
Your support will help remove financial barriers and allow Carlos to focus fully on learning, growing, and representing his communities with excellence. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps bring Carlos one step closer to New York and one step closer to his dream. Thank you for believing in Carlos and investing in his future.
