Carlos Francisco Reyes Herrera is a hard-working father, husband, and family friend from Licey Al Medio, Dominican Republic who is currently at risk of losing his foot due to complications from diabetes. What started as a regular injury to his foot soon became an infection that turned his toenails black and began rotting his foot from the inside (photo below). As a result, Carlos has been making daily trips to the hospital for help cleaning and taking care of his wound. While he is making progress, doctors warn that they may have to sever his foot completely if he is unable to keep up with treatment. We need help raising funds to prevent this from happening.

Carlos is the primary provider for his family, wife, and 3 daughters, one of whom is only 8 months old. He has not been able to work for the past two months given his current condition. Since he is unable to work, he has lost his job and health insurance. This has put his family under extreme financial pressure. They must now figure out how to pay for Carlos’ medical treatments, along with the daily expenses of living for a family of 5, without a primary source of income.
