Help Carlos Fight Pancreatic Cancer

This is the story of a dear friend, a brother, Carlos, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2024. For months before the diagnosis, the pain and side effects of this illness prevented him from working. It has now been over a year of mounting expenses across three different hospitals: Memorial Hospital, Sylvester Cancer Institute, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. The medical costs have been substantial, and the emotional toll has been indescribable.

Those who know Carlos understand what an exceptional man he is – an excellent father, husband, brother, and friend. He is always willing to give and dedicate himself to those in need. Now, it's our turn to give back to Carlos during his time of need.

Currently, and upon the strong recommendation of doctors at Johns Hopkins, Carlos needs our help to receive treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas in Houston. Carlos's medical insurance is not accepted by this institution, yet this hospital offers the precise treatments he needs to target the specific mutation in his cancer cells. Carlos's cancer has the KRAS G12D mutation, which requires specialized treatment only available at select institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center. Without your support, Carlos may not be able to access this critical care. In other words, the services of MD Anderson would be a ray of hope within God's plan for Carlos's healing, a healing we all fervently hope for.

Esta es la historia de un querido amigo, un hermano, Carlos, a quien le diagnosticaron cáncer de páncreas en junio de 2024. Durante meses antes de que comenzara la enfermedad, los dolores y los efectos secundarios le impedían trabajar. Ya ha pasado más de un año de gastos crecientes en tres hospitales diferentes: Memorial Hospital, Sylvester Cancer Institute y Johns Hopkins Hospital. Los costos médicos han sido cuantiosos y el costo emocional ha sido indescriptible.

Quienes conocen a Carlos saben qué hombre excepcional es: un padre, esposo, hermano y amigo excelente. Siempre está dispuesto a dar y a entregarse a quienes lo necesitan. Ahora, es nuestro momento de devolverle a Carlos en medio de su necesidad.

Actualmente, y por recomendación de los médicos de Johns Hopkins, Carlos necesita nuestra ayuda para poder recibir tratamiento en el MD Anderson Cancer Center de la Universidad de Texas en Houston. El seguro medico de Carlos no es aceptado por esta institución, pero esta institución tiene todo lo que Carlos necesita para tratar la mutación específica de sus células cancerosas. El cáncer de Carlos tiene la mutación KRAS G12D, la cual requiere un tratamiento especializado que solo está disponible en instituciones selectas como el MD Anderson Cancer Center. Sin su ayuda, Carlos podría no poder acceder a esta atención crucial.
