Help Carlos & Family With Medical Bills

There are a set of phrases you may expect to hear from your night crew when you wake up in the morning to check in on them. Learning that your employee has been hit by a drunk driver has never been on my list.

I have had the pleasure of having Carlos on my team for about a year now. He lives and works in a mindset of consistency, dedication, and exceptional workmanship. He is unwavering force of momentum to complete jobs., has a relentless positive attitude and is a rock for his crew. I am proud to have and work beside Carlos.

After work, while Carlos was returning to his vehicle, he was struck by an intoxicated driver. The impact caused Carlos to be ejected into the air and onto the pavement, causing him multiple severe injuries, including a broken knee and dislocated shoulder. He has suffered several seizures since the incident, but by the grace of God does not appear to have any major cranial trauma. He is currently under close supervision at Harbor View Medical Hospital where they continue to monitor his health and where he will begin his road to recovery.

I have visited Carlos in the hospital, and almost to be expected, through his brief moments of lucidity, wanted to give me a progress update about the jobsite he was on. It is difficult to see him in this condition as we are so often seeing him in a position of pure stamina. I cannot help but think of the impact these injuries can have upon a person's life and family. The enormity of medical bills, the time away from work, the financial and physical repercussions can be crippling.
