Help save Carlos!
Donation protected
I am not ready to lose the father of my children and my better half. Three months ago, COVID upended our lives and infected my husband, Carlos Espinoza. The disease was swift and brutal, relentless in its assault on the body of a strong, healthy, and vibrant 40-year-old man. Carlos is a fighter, and he’s clinging to life, but the road ahead is bleak, and his physicians tell us that our only path forward depends on obtaining an extremely costly double lung transplant. And while I can’t see my life without Carlos, we can’t do this on our own. We’re exploring all available options to save him and working with the hospital to secure the care he desperately needs, but we need help. We’re starting this Go Fund Me campaign to help cover medical expenses and raise the funds to support his recovery and offset our share of the transplant costs. Please consider donating or, if you can’t, sharing our plea with others in your social circle.
Carlos is an entrepreneur who worked hard to start his own business. Since he came to the US at the age of 17, he has always been driven to succeed and lead. He is honest, fair, and generous. He gives back to his community and is always willing to help others in any way he can. He is an excellent provider who always puts his family first, both here at home in Blue Ash, Ohio and back in Michoacán, Mexico. We have always counted on him to take care of us, and now he needs all of us to join together to take care of and support him.
My husband is a devout Catholic who believes in God and that, with his faith, he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to. We are praying for him and holding out hope that despite all the setbacks and challenges, he will pull through and come home to us. He has three young boys: Carlos (14), Nico (11), and Angel (9) who need him. I need him. We miss the devoted husband and amazing father who was so active and engaged in our lives, who loved sports and the opportunity to cheer at his sons’ football and soccer games, track meets, and wrestling matches. He adores his boys and spending time with them. He is a people person to the core who lived for gatherings and grill outs with friends, board games at the dining room table, or a quiet afternoon together fishing at the lake or hiking in the park.
I know this pandemic has been hard on many families and has taken many of our loved ones from us. My heart goes out to everyone who has endured this disease. It’s exhausting. Watching Carlos struggle to breathe and seeing his rapid decline as he quickly went from supplemental oxygen to a ventilator to ECMO and even suffered cardiac arrest has been the hardest thing that I’ve ever had to do. But I have to believe he’ll make it and push ahead. He’s been such a blessing in my life that I have to do everything I can to possibly save him. We must stay strong, keep hoping, keep fighting. Together we’ll find a way through. We are tremendously grateful for any amount you’re able to donate.
Very sincerely,
Angélica Espinoza
