Hi everyone, it’s Carlos again.

I’ve been living with diabetic retinopathy for a while now, and thanks to consistent treatment — and all of your incredible support during my last campaign — things had been improving. I truly can’t express how much that meant to me. Your kindness and generosity helped me get through one of the toughest chapters of my life, and for that, I’m forever grateful.

Unfortunately, I’m facing another setback. Back in July 2025, my health insurance lapsed, and since then I’ve been struggling to manage living expenses, medical bills, and the high cost of my medications, especially insulin. I’m currently uninsured and trying to find an affordable plan through the marketplace, but the premiums are steep, and it’s been a challenge to keep up.

Because of the costs, I made the mistake of skipping my retina specialist visits for several months. I recently noticed my vision becoming blurry and cloudy again, so I went back for a check-up. My doctor told me that my condition has worsened and that missing four months of treatment caused a major setback. He was very honest with me — my left eye is in bad shape, and I can’t afford to miss any more visits if I want to protect my vision.

That’s why I’m asking for your help again.

This fundraiser will go directly toward covering my out-of-pocket medical visits, treatments, and medications until I’m able to secure new insurance that meets my healthcare needs.
