Hello Everyone,
Thank you so much for visiting our page and reading our story. While many say it takes a village to raise a child, for us it seems it may take a village just to have one. Sharing our story and asking for help is not easy for us. However, after years of trying and thousands of dollars already spent, we acknowledge that we cannot do this alone—it is now that we ask our village for support.
Carlos and I have been happily married for 11 years and have been together for 18 years. After a few years to ourselves, we decided we were ready to start a family. We never thought adding a baby to our family would lead us on a difficult and heartbreaking journey. After several years of trying to conceive naturally and being unsuccessful, we knew we needed extra help.
In 2018 we began our new journey with our fertility clinic. After several tests and procedures, we were able to begin our first medicated cycle. Unfortunately, our first 2 Intrauterine Insemination procedures (IUI) were unsuccessful. Feeling defeated, sad, and confused we accepted the devastating truth that medicated cycles (IUI & In Vitro Fertilization—IVF) do not guarantee pregnancy. With a heavy heart and a persistent mindset, we decided to embark on a new journey… IVF. We began the emotional and physical journey of nightly injections, mood swings, and bruising. We were introduced to a brand-new world of Egg Retrieval, Genetic Testing, Frozen Embryos, and Embryo Transfers. We tackled each day with one common goal… A BABY! Our first Embryo Transfer was not successful, but we did not give up. We tried again! To our pleasant surprise our second Embryo Transfer was positive. Carlos and I were so EXCITED that we would finally be having a baby! Every week there was growth, there was hope! Unfortunately, after 8 weeks we experienced another miscarriage. This news was heartbreaking. We did not give up, we tried again! We entered our last Embryo Transfer hopeful that this time all the stars would align and it would be our turn to become parents. Unfortunately, the Embryo did not stick and the transfer was yet again unsuccessful.
This brings us to today. Carlos and I are still hopeful that one day we will become parents. However, this time we need help funding another IVF Cycle. Our insurance does not cover IUI or IVF procedures which has made this journey very costly.
We are humbly asking you, our village, to help in any way to make our dream of becoming parents come true.
With love and everlasting gratitude,
Carlos and Daniela Ponce
