Woke up this morning to read the horrible news of Carlos and Chloe and Paradizo Dance losing their home (in Carlos and Chloe’s case, literally their home and everything they own) in a fire that started at the next door neighbours.
Their dance studio, which they had poured countless hours, days, weeks, months, and years into building, renovating and preparing to be a special place for Brisbane dancers to come…gone.
Here is Chloe’s Facebook post:
………..
Our home, my whole life, my dream, burnt to ashes in 10 minutes last night!!!! I just can't believe it, I just can't.. I'm gutted.
The most important thing is everyone is SAFE!! We got everyone out and evacuated safely.
I want to explain what I know, because everyone is asking. And thank you for reaching out to us
Literally just in shock! I can't even comprehend what's happened.
What we know: I was upstairs on the balcony chatting with Kieran, when we heard two loud bang pop sounds. We looked next door, and what looked like a size of a large bonfire was burning on the side of the next door neighbours house. We ran as fast as we could to evacuate everyone and call the fire department. After running out, 10 mins later I took this video! And in a flash, everything just disappeared right in front of our eyes.
Words can't explain watching that in person. My fucking heart smashed into a million pieces. So soooooo thankful that we weren't sleeping and Carlos and I are alive.
Right now we are at my parents place. We are ok.
PARADIZO... My PARADIZO family, keep those memories close, you will need to hold them for a while, and in that studio, will be it's last.
Will update when I can.

I know Carlos and Chloe personally and professionally.
As dancers, I’ve seen them inspire thousands and thousands of dancers. They’re passionate. They’re talented. They’re innovative. They’re committed.
As teachers, I’ve seen them build an amazing school, guide and support an entire community of students, and grow an industry in their city for everyone to benefit from.
As people, I’ve had them in my home, travelled with them, heard them speak of their dreams beyond just dance, seen their love for each other and for life.
They’ve impacted so many. It’s our turn to impact them now.
Anything, big or small, that you can contribute to help, will go a long long way towards helping two amazing humans get back on their feet.
Let’s use this chance to prove once again that the dance world always always always looks after it’s own.
thank you ❤️
