Help Carlita and Rich with medical bills

Carlita Pederson is an amazing teacher, friend, partner, sister, daughter and all around wonderful person! Her positive energy and sweet spirit is apparent in all who meet her. She is beloved by family, friends, and especially her current and former students and their families. She has an incredible gift to connect with kids, and is known as everyone's "favorite" teacher if they have had the opportunity to be a part of her classroom.

Carlita was diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer in July. She has had major surgery and is now undergoing chemo. Chemo will last throughout 2021 and her treatment plan afterwards is still unknown.

She has not been able to return to her job teaching music at Mill Creek Middle School due to her treatments, the pandemic, and fragile immune system.

Carlita's medical expenses that insurance doesn't cover have begun to pile up, and she has not received a paycheck since August as her disability insurance has not sent any pay yet. Even with disability insurance, her income will be greatly reduced this school year.

Carlita travels to Kansas City for her treatments, and she is continuing to help caretake her father Homer.

Carlita and her partner Rich Menear have been so overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. It's time for Team Carlita to step up and help her out....I am sure most of us have received a card from her over the years as she LOVES to send cards of support to her family and friends. We would like to take the financial strain off their plate at this point so bills are not an area of stress for them.
