My niece Carley and her boyfriend Erik live in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. As of yesterday, that is past tense, as there was a fire in their apartment building directly above them, causing them to lose everything. They, and their pets, survived (thank God), but clothes, furniture, housewares, and irreplaceable sentimental belongings were destroyed.

This was their first home as young adults on their own, and they have nothing to start over.
