My daughter, Carley, was born with only a two-chamber heart. At just 5 days old, she underwent her first open-heart surgery; another followed at 7 months old, and another at 18 months. From the very beginning of her life, Carley has known what it means to fight.
But if you know Carley, you know this; she’s never let her heart condition define her. Every time doctors told her she couldn’t do something, Carley’s response was always, “Just watch me.”
She went on to play competitive sports, run 5Ks, ski, and even scuba dive. She took the life she was given and chose to live it fully, bravely, and fearlessly.
Now Carley is ready to fulfill her biggest dream of all … becoming a mother!
She and her partner Tim were overjoyed when they saw her first positive pregnancy test and ultrasound. Sadly, that joy was short-lived, and she miscarried soon after. When doctors told her pregnancy might be very difficult for her, she once again said, “Just watch.”
A year later, she received another positive test. And just like Carley, she didn’t do anything halfway! This time, the ultrasound showed not one, not two, but three babies!
She began planning nursery themes and dreaming about names… but complications arose, and heartbreak struck again. She lost the babies.
Most people would give up.
But Carley is not most people.
After countless tests, appointments, and emotional hurdles, Carley and Tim have been given new hope. There is a path forward, but it comes with a very large financial burden. The medical intervention she needs is expensive and not fully covered by her insurance or their savings.
As hard as it is for her to ask for help, this is her greatest dream. She never made a “Make-A-Wish” request as a child because she never wanted to take that opportunity away from someone else.
But this is her wish!
And as her mom, I want to do everything I can to help her see it come true.
If you are able, please consider donating to help Carley and Tim reach their goal and take the next step toward becoming a parents. Every single dollar matters. Every share matters. Every prayer matters.
Thank you for helping a true fighter continue her journey toward her dream of holding her own baby in her arms. ❤️
