My name is Alie, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Carla and her family in Jamaica, who have recently lost everything they've worked so hard to build.

Carla's family home in Jamaica has been completely destroyed, leaving her loved ones in an unimaginable situation. What was once a place of comfort and security is now uninhabitable. Her brother and his family, including three young children - the youngest only 1 year old - along with her nephew and his child, are all currently sleeping in their cars, trying to stay safe while figuring out their next steps.

The timing couldn't be worse. Carla is here in the States, navigating her own challenging circumstances and costly obligations that have recently become even more complicated due to circumstances beyond her control. She feels helpless being so far away, unable to provide the immediate support her family desperately needs.

Anyone who knows Carla knows she's the first person to help others in need. She's been there for me countless times, and she's always extended that same generosity to everyone in her life. When she reached out to me about setting up this fundraiser, I didn't hesitate. This is our chance to give back to someone who has given so much to others.
