Help Carla & The American Stroke Association!

Hi, my name is Tony and my family and I are fundraising for our Mom, Carla and The American Stroke Association. My Mom unexpectedly had a stroke in May 2020. I received a late-night call from my Mom that her arm was numb and an ambulance was on the way, and as you can imagine, I immediately thought the worst and it was terrifying.

I always viewed my parents as superheroes that would live on forever! They were indestructible! Math wizards! A source for endless supply of money and happy meals as a treat! As I got older, the realization that they were just like me was mind blowing! How could this be?! My Mom has always been active and in perfect health, so when she had her stroke, nothing put the fact that she was human more into perspective and in the forefront than that!

If I had to sum up my mother in a few words it would be she is the most loving, caring, compassionate, and diehard NFL fan I know, especially for her Buffalo Bills! Growing up in Jamestown, NY, later residing in Dunkirk & Fredonia, watching the Bills practice in Fredonia, and having Buffalo Bills season tickets in the 80’s-90’s, how could she not be a diehard fan! Being a Bills fan is just a way of life for her and us!

Unfortunately, since my Mom's stroke, she hasn't been able to return to work. She continues to demonstrate her strong will and toughness as she progresses through this healing stage in her life.

From your generous support, this fundraiser will allow for:

1. Assistance with medical bills (time in the hospital, inpatient rehab, her physical therapy appointments, etc.)

2. Assistance with monthly bills (since she’s unable to return to work)

3. Donation to The American Stroke Association - 10% of every donation will be going to this great charity who solely focuses on reducing disability and death from stroke. For more info on the charity, https://www.stroke.org/.

*Any amount over our goal will continue to go to Carla’s, my Mom’s, assistance with her monthly bills as well as donations to The American Stroke Association.

We know times are tough, but any monetary support you can provide would go a long way to helping my Mom and hopefully someone else's loved one!
