Help Carla Waters, Animal Hero

I'm Michelle Sathe, a PR specialist with Best Friends Animal Society. Recently, I had the opportunity to work with pets displaced by Hurricane Harvey in Houston. It was there that I met a heroic woman that really touched my heart.

Carla Waters is a vet relief worker with First Coast No More Homeless Pets. While helping pets in Houston who had been displaced by Hurricane Harvey, Carla learned she had lost her home and car in Hurricane Irma.

Despite this tragic loss, Carla stayed on to care for more than 500 dogs and cats who had also lost everything. Carla worked 12 to 15 hour days without a break for more than two weeks.  She is the one who now needs help.

Carla returned to Jacksonville on Sept. 20 to rebuild her life. She is a single mom with three kids, two dogs, and very limited means.

What Carla needs most is a reliable car to get back and forth to work, as well as funding for groceries, home goods, and replacing her home.

All funds raised by this campaign will go directly to Carla to rebuild her life.

Please help Carla by donating what you can and sharing with family, friends, and animal lovers everywhere.

Thank you!
