In April of 2025, my son and I left a difficult situation and found ourselves in a shelter. It was a challenging time, but we managed to get our own place and I started working at a major retailer. Things weren’t perfect, but we were making progress, saving a little, and beginning to feel hopeful about the future.

Unfortunately, life threw us some curveballs. My son became ill, then I got sick, and then he got sick again. Each time, our small savings disappeared as we tried to keep up with medical needs and daily expenses. Now, we’re behind on bills and struggling to catch up, no matter how hard I work or how carefully I budget.

I am hoping to raise enough to cover a couple of months of rent, utilities, medications, groceries, and gas.
